Motivation….what is it???

What does motivation mean to you?

I will share with you what it means to me and we can discuss if you all feel that I am on the right track or not.

Motivation to me equals smile. A smile of satisfaction, contentment and of joy. A smile comes on my far she. I kow I have achieved something or made a positive difference to myself or someone or soothing around me.

A slide comes on the face of someone who is positively impacted by my actions. It could be that I made an error be it in my work place or in a personal capacity. However I am motivated to fix that error to ensure the smile returns to the persons face. that is motivation.

Motivation to me is knowing that one or another my actions have a positive impact on someone. Even of the initial impact was not so positive, I am motivated to fix the issue to ensure the smile returns.

If I do the wrong thing, I am motivated to fix the issue so I can sit back and smile and be satisfied that’s have done the right thing.

It’s been a while since I have updated this blog, howeve I feel this is the best way to start 2012. Now I would love to hear what motivates the visitors to this blog.

Movember – Day 1

Hi,

It’s Movember and time to focus on men’s health. To show my commitment, I’m donating my face to the cause by growing a moustache for the entire month of November, and need your support. My Mo will spark conversations, and no doubt generate some laughs; all in the name of raising vital awareness and funds for prostate cancer male depression.

Why am I so passionate about men’s health?
*1 in 9 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime
*This year 20,000 new cases of the disease will be diagnosed
*1 in 8 men will experience depression in their lifetime

I’m asking you to support my Movember campaign by making a donation by either:
*Donating online at: http://mobro.co/thejackfactor
*Writing a cheque payable to ‘Movember,’ referencing my Registration ID: 1878032 and mailing it to: Movember, PO Box 60, East Melbourne, VIC, 8002

Funds raised will help make a tangible difference to the lives of others. Through the Movember Foundation and its men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue – the national depression initiative, they are funding world class research, educational and support programs which would otherwise not be possible.

If you’d like to find out more about the type of work you’d be helping to fund by supporting Movember, take a look at the Programs We Fund section on the Movember website: http://au.movember.com/about

Thank you in advance for supporting my efforts to change the face of men’s health. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Now India has spoken in United Nations General Assembly.

The Prime Minister of the largest democracy in the world and the most secular state- India in his address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Saturday 24th October said the western nations should not use force to force regime change ( Times Of India 25th October 2011)- this statement can be read in more ways than one.

What has transpired in Libya and may also happen in Syria is one way.

The western countries forcing a model of democracy in countries where regimes have been toppled by military intervention such as Fiji is another way.

If not using military power than the use of smart sanctions against them such as those applied against Fiji citizens is the same thing.

Western nations must appreciate that one size does not fit all- and in the same way not one model of democracy fits all the countries. What is good in Australia, the UK, USA and other European countries does not suit others where cultural settings, the political make up and the demographic is different from their own.

The political setting in Fiji was completely different from those in many other countries-here the population was divided the basis of race-the constitution was based on race and the population was required to vote on the basis of race- this was of the legacy left behind by Fiji’s former colonial masters –the Brits.

The underlying causes of all the military, as well civilian, coups in Fiji had been the race card.

Either the indigenous Fijians were worried about losing their rights or it was politically driven by some disgruntled politician who felt it their birth right to in control of the country politically.-the race card had been the issue identified as the pretext of carrying the coups.

Whenever there was a coup in Fiji it was the military which was asked to solve the problems and bring about law and order back into the country.

Therefore the question to ask is then –why not remove the race issue and treat everyone as “Human Race” in Fiji rather than as Indians, Fijians or others meaning Fruits salads- which included Chinese, Part Europeans and others of mixed races”.

In Australian any one of any ethnicity once he or she or even it becomes an Australian citizen is called Australian -but in Fiji people of Indian ethnicity born in Fiji could not call themselves Fijian until recently.

Can’t the Australian and New Zealand politicians, our immediate neighbours see this racial divide or is it they cannot go against their former colonial masters’ wishes as well.

Yet when the current military regime is trying hard to reform the laws of Fiji to create an inclusive society where everyone is treated as human beings and not on the basis of their ethnicity they are putting what they call smart sanctions-placing travel bans on people taking up jobs in the government or quasi government institutions, cancelling people permanent residencies of Australia.

Most pathetic case is that of a Public servant who was employed as permanent secretary in government ministry and as public servant was transferred sideways to the prime minister’s office –he has been banned from travelling to Australia and New Zealand-worst even when his wife who is a New Zealand citizen got seriously sick in New Zealand- he had to literally beg and plead to the New Zealand High Commission in Suva to be his wife’s bedside in hospital-after much frustrations he was given a visa for only about five days to go to New Zealand and that too was restricted to be only in the radius of 10 kilometres of his wife and not do any other business while in Auckland.

How stupid, silly, inhuman and narrow minded can these New Zealanders and the Australians be?

Yet they have the audacity to encourage their own citizens to go and work in Fiji and continue to push their exports into Fiji. Is this hypocrisy or interference?

So Australia and New Zealand- pay attention to what the Prime Minister of India has said. He is worth giving ear to. If what the IMF and the World Bank are predicting another or recession is on its way then the worst to suffer will be the western countries followed by China which is dependent for its trade on the western countries and if China collapses, Australia will collapse as Australia’s resources are exported to China-India will then emerge as the leading nation in the world. It will then be a force to reckon with.

Pay heed to India and stop interfering with the political and internal affairs of another sovereign state-let them find a solution themselves to their problems. They will get there and remove those silly smart sanctions which are no longer smart and effective either.

Are Queenslanders Australia’s stupidest driver?

I think so I hear some of you say. People from other states are thinking he’ll yes and overseas visitors might even be thinking that Queenslanders are the worlds stupidest drivers?

I mean seriously, turning without indicating? A motorcycle Turning right but before doing that it needs to go into the left lane and act like a Mick Doohan and take the corner really fast, forgetting that my cR is in the left lane beside it!!!! Driving with one foot on the accelerator and one on the brake….it’s an automatic you numb nut you are meant to drive it with one foot not both!!!! Slowing down on a main road so you can see how much that house is worth…do I need to go on?

My pet peeve, driving on the motorway in the right lane and doing 90 klms and hour!!!!!! FFS who died and made ou the highway patrol person? Even the cops haven stopped me doing 5-10 over the limit as longs I am not acting like an idiot and being a danger so why on earth does a fool in a hatch back think he has the right to make me drive below the speed limit?

Why can’t QLD infact Australia bring in variable sped limits like the UK? Maybe cuz Qlders drivers might take that as a hint to drive as fast as they can.

Blood pressure gone through the roof just typing this so rant over…have a good weekend all…

Happy driving :)

Comment on NZ Law Society President’s statement

The President of the New Zealand Law Society Mr. Jonathan Temms, issued a statement saying Fiji is a totalitarian regime and lawlessness is prevalent and further saying that there were three unexplained deaths of New Zealand citizens in the tourist belt in Fiji recently. Can Jonathan further explain whether he had enquired from the police in Fiji how and why they died??

I say to Jonathan, “you are misinformed”. Do you know the very people i.e. the members of the now disbanded Fiji Law Society are/ were corrupt to the extent that they were fleecing the ignorant members of the community in Fiji. There were so many cases that were brought to the attention of the Fiji Law Society from members of the public and 99% were dismissed in support of the lawyers- cheating, non-performance even after collecting all the fees, you name the crime and lawyers committed these –yet no one lawyer would take a civil case against another lawyer. They are true to the idiom-“Lawyers are licensed to tell lies and mislead” even inside the courts.
There was a case of a very known lawyer in the western side of Fiji, a member of the former Fiji Law Society easily identifiable as he wears dark glasses day and night and who was deregistered in Queensland for fraud- he moved back to Fiji from where he escaped after squandering trust funds- got registration in Fiji and who had multiple reports against him with the then Fiji Law Society yet nothing happened to him.
It is understood he is being investigated now by the present regime.
Jonathan if New Zealand is such a law abiding country then why is New Zealand sheltering a very prominent lawyer who escaped Fiji’s jurisdiction where he was fined for unethical behaviour as a legal practitioner and is now a fugitive being sheltered by New Zealand-no doubt he will soon be practising law in New Zealand under registration provided by the Jonathan’s New Zealand Law Society as well allowing another military personnel who is also a fugitive into New Zealand when geneuine rugby players with military links are denied entry for the Rugby World Cup- joke!!!
If Jonathan’s Law Society is so ethical why has it not deregistered those New Zealand lawyers working for the illegal regime in Fiji. –You are a joke Jonathan.
Can Jonathan quantify how many Fiji citizens have died in New Zealand while visiting or studying there or even living in New Zealand. A recent case of causing death by setting alive on fire of a woman in a car on the main highway from Auckland to Hamilton near Huntly- is this a case of a law lawfulness of lawlessness.??
You are joke again Jonathan.
